Custom Domain Configuration Steps

 This article will guide on the Steps to Configure the DNS Records with your Domain Service Provider & then Add the Custom Domain in Socxly

If you have Purchased a Custom Domain (from any Domain Service Provider) for branding your short links, then proceed on the steps below.

Steps to Configure:   Go to Settings (Menu) and choose Custom Domain Tab




First Step
Configure DNS Records with your Domain Name Service Provider

  1. Before configuring the Custom Domain in Socxly, please configure the DNS Records as indicated in the DNS Records Tab
  2. Use ‘A’ Record info to configure Root (Apex) Domain (see sample below)
  3. Use ‘CNAME’ info to configure Sub-Domain (see sample below)

ALERT
Please do not use a Domain Name URL as your Custom Domain in Socxly if it is already used and configured for your website or other web apps

Note - Without completing the First step, you will not be able to Add & Use the Custom Domain in Socxly


Second Step: 
Add a Custom Domain
  1. Enter your Custom Domain
  2. Set your Custom Domain as ‘Default’ choice for Short Links


  1. If your DNS Records are set properly with your Domain Provider, the Custom Domain will be saved in Socxly for use. Else, you will get an Error that the DNS Records are not configured
  2. Also, give some time for the DNS record propagation to take place from your domain provider, which can range from less than 1 hour to 72 hours depending on domain provider
  3. You will get an email notification from Socxly on successful completion of this step

Failed Configuration
If a DNS Record configuration or propagation is not proper



  1. Check the configuration again with the domain provider (ensure no additional characters / spaces are inserted)
  1. Wait for the propagation to complete
  1. If issue persists, reach out to us through the Support Widget inside the Socxly App

If your DNS Record propagation is successful and you have been able to Add your Custom Domain in Socxly, then proceed on the next article.
