Create a Socxly Short Link for a Long URL (More Options)

  • Then Click on 'More Options+’ to see open the detailed screen below


Long URL (Required)

  • Paste / Type the Long URL or any other URL (it can be any other Short URL too)

  • You can and double check (use View Original URL Icon) 

 

Note

Most times, the Long URL you paste may already contain UTM or URI Parameters.

Example - https://www.socxo.com/blog/nano-influencer-marketing/?utm_medium=socxo&utm_source=linkedin&utm_term=6009a8a0c5c856923dbf795c&utm_campaign=social

Remember, whenever you delete / remove the UTM in a Long URL, then double check if the Long URL works fine by using the ‘View Original’ Icon next to the ‘Long URL’ Label on top.


Important Step - Before you click ‘Create’, we advise you to click on the ‘View Original’ Icon below the ‘Long URL’ input box and double check if the Long URL works fine, else you may need to repeat the process.


Customize Back-half (Optional)

For Example - https://socx.ly/xtgxd9

If you wish to change or customize it to make it more personalized and appropriate, type a word or combination of words to create your own custom slug or back-half.

For Example - https://socx.ly/digitalmarketing

If you are using the Free version of Socxly, you will be indicated if the Back-half or Custom Slug has already been taken by another User by showing the message – ‘This Custom Back-half has already been taken, try another option’

Tags (Optional)

Select a UTM Parameter (Optional)

If you have already created one or many UTM’s (you can see them in Settings)

  • If the Long URL is your own page, then you can track the Traffic using your Google Analytics Account

  • However, if the Long URL is not your own page, you can still associate a UTM but you may not be able to track it

If you have not created a UTM earlier, then Click on ‘Add New UTM’ to create a UTM

Select a URI Parameter (Optional)

If you have already created one or many URI’s (you can see them in Settings)

  • If the Long URL is your own page, then you can track the URI info using your website code

  • However, if the Long URL is not your own page, you can still associate a URI but you may not be able to track it

If you have not created a URI earlier, then Click on ‘Add New URI’ to create a URI
